एक बार एक छोटे से गाँव में, सत्यानंद, बिदानंद, धमानंद और शिवानंद नाम के चार ब्राह्मण रहते थे। वे अच्छे दोस्त बनने के लिए एक साथ बड़े हुए थे। सत्यानंद, बिदानंद और धर्मानंद बहुत ज्ञानी थे। लेकिन शिवानंद का ज्यादातर समय खाने और सोने में ही बीतता था। उन्हें हर कोई मूर्ख समझता था। एक बार गाँव में अकाल पड़ा। सभी फसलें फेल हो गईं। नदियाँ और झीलें सूखने लगी हैं। गाँव के लोग अपनी जान बचाने के लिए दूसरे गाँवों में जाने लगे। सत्यानंद ने कहा, ” हमें भी जल्द ही दूसरी जगह जाने की जरूरत है। वे सभी उससे सहमत थे।

Once upon a time in a small village there lived four Brahmins named Satyanand, Bidyanand, Dhamanand, and Sivanand. They had grown up together to become good friends. Satyanand, Bidyanand and Dharmanand were very knowledgeable. But Sivananda spent most of his time eating and sleeping. He was considered foolish by everyone.
